How to Teach Schubert Impromptu
Today we’re talking about how to teach the Impromptu in E-flat Major Op.90/D.899, No.2 by Franz Schubert. This is a well-loved piece at the early-advanced level containing many scale patterns. Because this is a long, early-advanced work with two distinct characters, I have divided my discussion into two videos.
📢 In the first video, I announced my newest FREE resource, 7 Ways to Make Your Scales Sound Great.
Fill out the form below to download your guide to these indispensable practice techniques that I use with my intermediate and advanced students to improve scales and other fast passagework in their repertoire.
In the second video, I mentioned that harmonic understanding is one of the main ways we can help our students play expressively.
