  • You click the button and reserve a time for a one-hour consultation via Zoom.

  • Janna will send you an online questionnaire so she has context about your background and teaching.

  • During the meeting, Janna will focus on your most pressing concerns and also highlight any observations she has in response to both your questionnaire and the live discussion.

  • After the meeting, Janna will send you a recording of the meeting along with a summary of ideas and suggested resources.

I’ve helped teachers, just like you, in of the following areas:

  • studio management and writing an effective studio policy

  • communication with parents and students

  • evaluating beginning piano methods

  • teaching intermediate repertoire and repertoire grading

  • how to develop healthy technique

  • preparing students for performance

  • helping students express themselves fully at the piano

  • teaching the music of Bach and other Baroque composers
    (including basic ornamentation)

  • considering your strengths as a teacher

  • troubleshooting specific student challenges

  • establishing a vision for your students and studio

I’m so thankful for my consultation with Janna. It gave me a lot more confidence for the future. Janna is such a kind and patient teacher with a wealth of experience and knowledge to share!

what people are saying about their consultation with janna

The first meeting I had with Janna was extraordinary. Like any teacher at the top of their game, she balanced hearing, skillfully listening, rather, to my concerns as a new teacher, having real compassion for the challenges faced at this stage, and finding just the right words and resources to help me move forward with confidence and purpose. I knew Janna was a full library of knowledge and experience, but most importantly, she knows how to transmit that information in ways that are actionable and empowering, especially if you’re feeling daunted by it all. I really can’t recommend enough.
— Joel Ripka, New York, NY
Following my consultation with Janna, I found that I finally had a vision for where my students are going. Among many things, she helped me evaluate what has been useful for my students and what has not. I finally feel like I am running my own program now and that I’m finally behind the steering wheel of my studio. Thank you, Janna!
